Especially if you haven’t been very long in an apartment, the landlord often expects the apartment to be in at least as good a shape as at the start of the lease. That is why the control at hand-over is often very detailed and even tedious. Not only has the apartment to be superficially clean, but also all cupboards, cabinets, washing machines, inbuilt kitchen utensils, sink drains etc, have to clean inside and out and free of calcium and other residues.
